The Green Room
Fairmount's century-old corner bar — the real neighborhood deal.
The Green Room has anchored the corner of 25th and Green in Fairmount since 1919, when Pop Plumer bought the original restaurant and turned it into the Cadillac Delicatessen. The space eventually became the bar locals know today — and it still feels like a place where regulars have been sitting in the same stools for decades.
It's a true neighborhood sports bar: flat screens everywhere, a pool table, two dart boards, a jukebox, and a lineup of beers on tap that won't drain your wallet. Cash only, ATM in the house, no pretense.
On St Patrick's Day, The Green Room is the Fairmount alternative to the Center City crawl. The crowd is local, the pints are cheap, and you can actually move your elbows.
Skip the Center City lines and post up here for a low-key St Paddy's. Cash-only — hit the ATM first. Pool and darts fill up fast, so grab a table early.
Philadelphia's longest-running St Patrick's Day bar crawl. 30+ bars, free cover, free t-shirts.
