Cavanaugh's Headhouse
The other originator. Where the Erin Express crawl meets South Street.
Cavanaugh's Headhouse anchors the South Street end of the Erin Express. Bigger footprint than Rittenhouse, two levels of bar, and a rooftop that opens up when the weather cooperates — which, in mid-March in Philadelphia, is roughly a coin flip.
Where the Rittenhouse Cav's leans college and post-college, Headhouse pulls a slightly older Queen Village and Society Hill crowd early in the day before the Rittenhouse party walks down South Street.
It's also the sensible last-stop of the day: you're already on South Street, and you're walking distance from a cheesesteak, a cab, or bed.
Start your day here for shorter lines, or end your day here to close out the crawl. Rooftop opens weather-permitting.
Philadelphia's longest-running St Patrick's Day bar crawl. 30+ bars, free cover, free t-shirts.
