The Erin Express's south terminus.
Anchored by Cavanaugh's Headhouse, the Queen Village / South Street neighborhood is the second leg of the Erin Express and a great daytime alternative to the Rittenhouse madness.
Slightly older, slightly calmer, still very much a party. Rooftops, cobblestones, cheesesteaks nearby.
Headhouse Square gets its name from the historic 1804 firehouse at 2nd and Pine — one of the oldest surviving market structures in the country. That's your landmark. Cavanaugh's Headhouse is a block away on South Street.
This is a great neighborhood to start your Erin Express day. Lines are shorter here in the morning, it's an easy walk or Uber up to Rittenhouse, and you're a five-minute walk from a Jim's Steaks pit stop.
It's also the sensible neighborhood to end your night — walkable to Old City (The Plough & the Stars) if you want to keep going, or a quick ride to Lucy's in Rittenhouse.
SEPTA: 2nd Street (Market-Frankford Line) then a 10-minute walk south. Walk or Uber to Rittenhouse.
Philadelphia's longest-running St Patrick's Day bar crawl. 30+ bars, free cover, free t-shirts.
