The Dandelion
Stephen Starr's love letter to the London-Irish gastropub.
The Dandelion is not a traditional Irish pub — it's Stephen Starr's take on a London-Irish gastropub, spread over three floors of a townhouse a block off Rittenhouse Square. Floral wallpaper, taxidermy, a real fireplace, and a menu that includes both a properly good fish and chips and a wine list.
It's the dressier option on St Patrick's Day. Book a table upstairs, order the Scotch egg, drink a good pint of Guinness, and skip the crawl chaos happening two blocks away.
Also excellent as a day-before or day-after St Paddy's meal when the city is calmer.
Book a table well in advance. The Scotch egg and fish and chips are non-negotiable. A civilized alternative to the Cavanaugh's crush.
Philadelphia's longest-running St Patrick's Day bar crawl. 30+ bars, free cover, free t-shirts.
